Literacy Pittsburgh is pleased to offer QuickBooks Certification Prep classes. The Intuit QuickBooksOnline Certified User (QBOCU) certification is an industry-recognized credential that validates one’s skills in using the Intuit QuickBooks Online accounting software. Completion of Accounting Essentials or familiarity with Bookkeeping in the United States is recommended, but not required.  Eligible participants will be provided a voucher to take the certification exam.

  • Vendors and Money-Out
  • Bank Accounts, Transaction Rules, and Receipts
  • Basic Reports and Views

Accounting Essentials 

Literacy Pittsburgh is pleased to offer Accounting Essentials. This course will prepare students for the Intuit Certified Bookkeeping Professional certification. This certification can help open doors for individuals looking to build a career in bookkeeping. No bookkeeping experience is required to register for this class, and eligible participants will be provided a voucher to take the certification exam.

Skills Covered:

  • Accounting Basics
  • Accounting for assets and sales transactions
  • Accounting for liabilities, equity, and purchase transactions
  • Reconciliation and financial statements
  • Excel for Accounting

About Intuit Certification Courses:
  • The courses are intensive 10 or 12-week classes that meet twice a week in person.
  • Courses are offered as cohorts with specific start and end dates.
  • Participants should also expect to work outside of class time to complete assignments.
  • Students who obtain at least a 70% on graded assignments and tests are eligible for a voucher to take the Intuit exam at no charge.
Prerequisites:
  • Take a reading test and meet the minimum score.
  • Attend required orientation.
  • Commit to attending every class for the duration of the 12 weeks (maximum 3 absences).
  • Commit to homework outside of class to be prepared for each session.
