As part of our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) strategic priority, we held a very interactive and well-received Implicit Bias workshop for our entire staff last month. The full-day workshop, held on Friday, August 12th, was conducted by DBA Training Solutions. DBA was founded by a team of law enforcement professionals, responding to the need for training designed to help unite police departments and the communities they serve. The class gave staff an understanding of implicit bias, and how to identify and reduce the damaging impact of unconscious bias in your everyday life. The class used personal stories from the staff that helped everyone understand how to have an open mind to different people and situations regardless of race, gender, or disability.
