Welcome Lynn Ready-Aspiotes to Beaver County

Jul 12, 2024Articles

We are delighted to welcome Lynn Ready-Aspiotes as the new Program Coordinator for the Beaver County area. Lynn has been a Digital Skills Instructor at Literacy Pittsburgh since 2022, and she brings a deep and broad skill set to her new position.

Lynn's teaching journey began in 2001 as a Reading Specialist in northern VA. This role, located just outside of Washington D.C., involved teaching English to children from diverse backgrounds. She continued her career as a Reading Specialist at various Title 1 schools in northern Georgia and Pittsburgh, earning numerous credentials along the way. Her educational journey includes a bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Education from Penn State University, a master’s degree in educational leadership from Kennesaw State University in 2005, Reading Specialist and Literacy Coach certifications from Slippery Rock University, Elementary Education certification from Carlow University, and K-12 Principal certification in the Commonwealth of PA.

As a Digital Literacy Instructor, Lynn developed strong relationships with colleagues, partners, and students. Lynn delivered instruction throughout Allegheny County at partner sites, including Clairton Public Library, Whitehall Library, and EARN in Duquesne and Wilkinsburg. Lynn designed numerous workshops, including Typing, Preparing for a Virtual Interview, and intermediate-level Microsoft Word workshops. Lynn was instrumental in developing lessons for our Microsoft Office Specialist Word and PowerPoint certification classes.

In her new role as the Program Coordinator for Beaver County, Lynn will be responsible for conducting testing and placement of new students, providing ongoing support to students and volunteer tutors, and continuing to offer digital skills classes at the PA CareerLink® site in the Beaver Valley Mall. She looks forward to meeting area partners, students, and volunteers in the coming months. Congratulations and best wishes to Lynn as she carries forward the powerful legacy left by Susan Mansuetti and Mary Leitao!

“Lynn has some big shoes to fill in Beaver County, but we're confident she'll excel in her new role. With her expertise and warmth, she's bound to succeed. We're excited to welcome Lynn to the volunteer and community program team,” said Director of Volunteer and Community Programs Hannah Gerbeschacht.
